AHKEA is a non-profit making trade association founded in 2002. It was now renamed as the Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association (HKETA). The Association aims to provide accurate and current business, technologies and manufacturing information to members and to act as a platform to foster friendship and business synergies. AHKEA/HKETA had successfully organized various seminars/trainings, networking dinners, exhibitions, visits, overseas study tours and other industry events.

America Hong Kong Electronics Association (now reformed as Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association) obtained a fund from TID of HKSAR to conduct a survey to investigate the current deployment of embedded software in Hong Kong electronics industry and identify ways to facilitate the growth of the local embedded software industry and electronics industry. Two categories of target respondents were Hong Kong electronics manufacturers using embedded software to manufacture their products and Hong Kong companies designing and providing embedded software and/or embedded software related services for manufacturers. 60 questionnaires from electronics manufacturers and another 60 from embedded software developers were collected via telephone survey during September to November 2007.

This Hong Kong Embedded Software Developer Directory 2008 contains a list of 51 Hong Kong embedded software developers quoted from the Hong Kong Embedded Software Survey 2007. This directory includes their contact information, business nature, competitive edges, products and services. This directory also helps to exchange industry information. The embedded software developers can thus explore potential alliances with others, representing new expanded businesses.
