Deep-R which is capable of capturing a GPS position using only 2ms (Milliseconds, or 2/1000th of a second) of I/Q samples provides a low-cost software based solution for GPS positioning without the need for significant processing power and expensive hardware. Instead of using a dedicated GPS chipset, Deep-R employs only a low-cost RFIC to extract, down-convert and demodulate GPS signals. Deep-R is capable of running in Real-Time or in Post-Processing modes. When used in Real-Time mode, prior to operation, Deep-R downloads a small file that predicts the satellite orbit for up 4 weeks. GPS processing is done in software using a general purpose processor such as a microprocessor or a digital signal processor in Real-Time. For the satellite orbit will be downloaded during the processing.
