Japan Institute for Promoting Invention and Innovation

- It was established in 1904 as the 'Association for the Protection of Industrial Property' and renamed the 'Invention Association' in 1947. Since 2012, it has been active through two organizations: the 'Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Invention Association,' which carries out invention promotion projects, and the 'General Incorporated Association Invention Promotion Association,' which handles training, publishing, research, and international collaboration projects. Since its founding, it has consistently worked to encourage inventions and spread awareness of the industrial property system, contributing to the progress and development of science and technology in Japan.

- Since its founding in 1904, the Invention Association has spent over 120 years promoting science and technology in Japan and contributing to the development of our industrial economy. We carry out activities to encourage inventions, nurture the next generation of talent, and raise awareness about the intellectual property system. In particular, thanks to the special interest of the Imperial Family in promoting inventions, we receive an annual grant and present the 'Onshi Invention Award' at the National Invention Awards to honor inventors, designers, and creators of exceptional achievements. We also give the 'Onshi Memorial Award' at the All-Japan Student and Children's Invention Exhibition to recognize students who create outstanding inventive works. In addition, we investigate and recommend candidates for national awards such as decorations, medals of honor, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's awards in the field of science and technology, and intellectual property achievement awards. - The Public Relations Society of Japan (PRSJ) has been working since its founding to promote and spread public relations in Japan, always seeking ways of doing PR that fit the times. In 1980, the Japan PR Association, which was made up of corporate PR staff, and the Japan PR Industry Association, which supported PR activities, merged to form the voluntary organization called the Public Relations Society of Japan. In 2012, it was officially recognized as a public interest incorporated association by the Cabinet Office. Taking advantage of its unique structure where both corporate and organizational PR staff and PR professionals can be members together, the society shares knowledge and know-how about PR, applies it to actual public relations activities, and actively works on developing the next generation of PR professionals.
