CEATEC AWARD is CEATEC's own award program, conducted in cooperation with the government. Since its founding in 2011, this year marks its 16th edition. At CEATEC, where cutting-edge technologies gather from across Japan and around the world, the award recognizes exhibited products, technologies, and services judged to be especially innovative and outstanding. It is a prestigious award that aims to bring outstanding technologies to the world, contributing to the creation and growth of new value and markets, and helping to invigorate industry as a whole. Judging is conducted rigorously by a review committee composed of relevant academic societies and specialized media.
The Ministerial Awards will be awarded for outstanding projects, technologies, products, and services, as well as supporting software, applications, components/devices exhibited at CEATEC 2026 and entered for CEATEC AWARD 2026. These awards recognize entries judged as making a major contribution to solving regional issues, including revitalization; promoting prosperous lifestyles, enriching society, improving efficiency and high added-value in economic activities.
MICCandidates for selection are deemed to have made major contributions to the advancement of the CPS/IoT community and realization of Society 5.0 – which includes but is not limited to the innovative utilization of information and communications networks, data, AI technologies and IoT technologies in the age of IoT and Big Data, as well as establishing services based on the aforementioned technologies for use in local communities.
METICandidates for selection are deemed to have made major contributions to the development of the CPS/IoT community and the realization of Society 5.0, such as manufacturing that creates new value, solves problems and promotes innovation in daily life, society, business and industry through the use of AI, robotics, Big Data, etc.; services that utilize IoT; and the development of cross-sectional technologies that promote the digital transformation of industry.
Ministry ofCandidates for selection are deemed to have made major contributions to the creation of a prosperous lifestyle and a resilient society, where people can choose the most appropriate services for their life stage, by harnessing the potential of digital technologies and solving diverse issues while making the best use of digital technologies to realize a digital society on a global scale.
ExcellencePresented to the entry that is evaluated as the most outstanding among all submissions based on a comprehensive assessment of innovation, social impact, feasibility, market potential, and co-creation, and is recognized as having exceptional potential to contribute to future industrial and societal development and the creation of new value.
InnovationPresented to an entry that demonstrates excellence in innovation, practical feasibility, and contribution to society among technologies, products, services, software, applications, solutions, business models, and other initiatives that contribute to the realization of Society 5.0 and support the sustainable development of industry, business, society, and everyday life.
TransformationPresented to an entry that is recognized for its excellence in innovation, feasibility, and social impact among technologies, products, services, and solutions that leverage digital and advanced technologies to drive transformation across industry, business, society, and everyday life.
GlobalPresented to an outstanding technology, product, or service exhibited by an overseas exhibitor, evaluated for its innovation, practical feasibility, market potential, and contribution to society.
NextPresented to an outstanding entry from a startup company, university, or research institution that is developing innovative technologies, products, services, software, applications, or business models and challenging the creation of new markets and social value. Entries are evaluated based on technological excellence, future potential, marketability, and contribution to society.
MobilityPresented to an outstanding mobility-related technology, product, service, or solution that demonstrates excellence in innovation, practicality, real-world applicability, and contribution to the future of society.
