Announcing the Winners of CEATEC AWARD 2024: Global Category Awards

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA: Kazuhiro Tsuga, Representative Director and Chairperson; also Chairperson of the Board, Panasonic Holdings Corporation) is pleased to announce the recipients of CEATEC AWARD 2024, including the two Global Category Awards, which are selected from technologies, products, and services on display at CEATEC 2024. The CEATEC AWARD 2024 review board panel of judges has selected the CEATEC AWARD 2024 to be implemented with the goal of realizing Society 5.0, which will contribute to the creation and development of new value and markets while invigorating related industries.

Data doesn't flow on rainbows

Gaia-X European Association for Data and Cloud AISBL (Inside the EU Pavilion | Booth No.: 5H234)

Outline :

Software and specifications that allow corporations and individuals to exchange and share data. Compliance engine, registry and notary are included in the software component, which are deployed by the Gaia-X Digital Clearing House (GXDCH). These tools work together, and data is distributed in a way that conforms to the standards set by Gaia-X. This allows participants to share data while maintaining control over its distribution. In addition to the software, Gaia-X provides specifications such as compliance documents, ICAM, and architecture documents. This documentation outlines the rules, technical standards, and best practices that participants must comply with in order to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of exchanged data. By ensuring that all participants in the ecosystem adhere to the same standards, Gaia-X will achieve a highly reliable data distribution environment without compromising the rights and control of data owners.

Assessment :

Gaia-X is an autonomous decentralized data collaboration consortium led by the EU, with 300 companies in Europe alone, and Japanese companies are also involved in rule creation and operation. Compared to other platforms where data is monopolized by a single company, it enables centralized management of data from the upstream process of products to end users. It is anticipated that both companies and users will benefit from the promotion of data collaboration. This initiative is already in operation, and was highly evaluated as an important foundation for promoting data distribution by expanding the number of users in the future.

Neuro ID® :
The Ultimate Secure Biometric Solution

YNEURO (Inside the EU Pavilion | Booth No.: 5H234)

Outline:

A pioneering biometric authentication system that uses each individual’s unique neural signature to revolutionize personal identification. Unlike traditional methods, Neuro ID utilizes a non-replicable neural pattern to provide a secure, private and seamless alternative. This technology eliminates the need for passwords and physical biometrics, greatly reducing the risk of security breaches. The system's adaptive learning capabilities allow for continuous improvement in recognition accuracy, providing a highly personalized user experience. The versatility of this system has the potential to revolutionize digital security in fields such as finance, government, defense, and consumer electronics.

Assessment:

By using brain waves as biometric authentication data that cannot be copied, this is an innovative solution that makes passwords and physical biometric authentication unnecessary. There are some issues to be addressed with regard to noise reduction with small EEG sensors, but once those are cleared, it has the potential to become a new authentication infrastructure. The novelty and ambition of the challenge to innovate were highly evaluated. There were also high expectations for the future potential of the wide range of applications that could be realized.

The CEATEC AWARD 2024 Review Panel of Judges will review the technologies, products, and services exhibited at CEATEC 2024, from among the entries of exhibits and projects submitted in advance by exhibitors, and award those that are deemed highly innovative and outstanding from academic and technical perspectives, as well as marketability and future potential.
