In order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, it is important to work across industries, and there are high expectations for the introduction of digital technologies that connect various industries and business sectors. In 2023, the Visualization WG of the Green x Digital Consortium, which aims to visualize supply chain CO2 emissions, released the methodology and technical specifications for calculating and sharing emissions, and successfully conducted a POC experiment based on them. In this session, we will introduce these results, and consider the future of the industrial.

The significance of the concept "Green x Digital" is to leverage digital technology and solutions to promote data exchange, fostering mutual development between the Green and Digital sectors to address societal challenges. In this dialogue, various initiatives addressing global data exchange as well as carbon neutrality across the supply chains come together. All electrical outlets are AC, but 95% of the devices around us operate on DC. AC is not good at combining multiple sources of power and will not operate unless the voltage, frequency, and phase are all matched. In contrast, direct current operates by simply making a physical connection. In addition, since renewable energy and energy storage are well suited to DC power, they can be expected to be a source of supply in the event of power outages due to disasters. Understanding effects of DC will bring us closer to realizing carbon neutrality while simultaneously implementing BCP and demand response.

Through public-private collaboration, they will engage in a profound discussion about the challenges and vision concerning the journey towards a decarbonized society using DX/GX technologies.

How far have the Green x Digital Consortium's efforts to visualize CO2 emissions in the supply chain using digital technology progressed? In this session, the consultant in charge of writing "CO2 Visualization Framework" will explain and discuss the future prospects for the digitalization of emission calculation and the measures that companies should take.

Amidst growing global awareness of the environmental burden, the manufacturing process of electronic circuit boards emits an extremely large amount of CO2, approximately 66 megatons/year. Therefore, we have renewed the manufacturing method and developed a new environmentally friendly FPC process (inkjet printing) with overwhelmingly low CO2 emissions. This FPC is manufactured using a new environmentally friendly inkjet printing process, which greatly contributes to the environmental efforts of all manufacturing companies that use FPCs.
